The objectives of this society are to fulfill the economic, social and cultural needs of the membership and to promote the spirit and the activities of economy, benevolence and self-assistance within the membership.

Benefits

Retirement Benefits
-
Rs. 3,000.00 and a souvenir gift for a member with a membership period between 05- 10 years at the time of retirement.

Rs. 10,000.00 and a souvenir gift for a member with a membership period between 05- 10 years and who has not received any benefits.

Rs. 5,000.00 and a souvenir gift for a member with a membership period of over 10 years and has received death grants.

Rs. 25,000.00 and a souvenir gift for a member with a membership period of over 10 years and has not received death grants.

Awarding of Death Grants
-
If a member holds the membership from 06 months to 05 years, shall grant half his/her day’s salary.
-
If the membership period is over 05 years, he/she shall grant the full day’s salary.

In case of suicide by a member, the death grant of Rs. 20,000.00 alone shall be paid.

At the time of a death of a spouse of a member ( when the spouse of the member is not a member of the Employee Welfare Society) Rs. 100.00 shall be granted from each member of the society.

Payment of General Death Grants for the Dependents of the Members
-
Death grants shall be paid for Mother, Father, Mother- in law, Father-in law, unmarried children and the Spouse of the member. A grant of Rs. 20,000.00 shall be paid for unmarried Brothers/Sisters.

Number of maximum death grants shall be 04.

Payment of death grants.
-
No beneficiary funds shall be paid for a membership period of 01- 06 months.

Form 06 months to 05 years half the death grant and the a maximum of 02 death grants shall be paid.
-
From 05 years to 10 years 02 full death grants shall be paid.
-
Members with the membership period of over 10 years may receive 04 death grants. Members with less than 10 years shall only receive 02 death grants under the limits specified under (a.) and (d.) above.

Transport Allowance and the Fuel Money
-
Transport allowance of Rs. 15,000.00 shall be paid at the time of a death of a member.

Payment of transport allowance under a maximum of Rs. 8,500.00 for a funeral at the head office and under a maximum of Rs. 7,000.00 for a funeral in Provincial Office, District Office or training centers.
Other Benefits

Payment of Rs. 2,000.00 for an engagement of a member.

Granting a gift voucher worth Rs. 1,000.00 for a child of a member passing Year 05 Scholarship examination.

At the time of a childbirth of a member, opening an account with Rs. 1,000.00 in the name of child.

In case of hospitalization of a member, payment of a medical allowance at Rs. 200.00 per day under a maximum of Rs. 4,000.00.

Payment of a special medical allowance of Rs. 6,000.00 at an accident.

In case of a serious heart surgery, kidney surgery, brain surgery or a cancer surgery to a member, Rs. 100.00 shall be granted from each member.

Provision of festival advance.
Loans
Providing a loan facilities upto a maximum of Rs. 15,000 at an annual interest of 7%.

Annual Bodhi Pooja ceremony at Sri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura (March Full Moon Poya Day)

Sago Dansala on Poson Full Moon Poya Day.
